Non Intrusive

The Deception Discovery approach is completely non-invasive. There are no electrodes to attach, and we don't monitor or analyze any bodily functions; we only look at the words that are spoken. Gone are the offensive and invasive questions that purposely embarrass, frighten, and humiliate in order to establish a stress baseline. The analysis simply looks at the transcript for a natural conversation about the issue you care about. Where deceptive language is detected, those words are highlighted in red. Where non-deceptive language is detected, those words are highlighted in green.

Even Handed

Bias is often an issue in hiring decisions and in deception detection, as well. The Deception Discover system provides an automated analysis of language that is color, age and class blind. Our research and testing has demonstrated consistent results across a broad cross-section of the population.

This is not a lie detector

Federal law and many state laws prohibit use of lie detectors in many hiring settings. Deception Discovery differs in many significant ways from the definition of lie detector used in EPPA Title 29 Chapter 22. There is no device or instrument used to render an opinion regarding honesty of an individual. Like the pencil and paper honesty tests that are not prohibited by the EEPA, the Deception Discovery process looks only at the words used by an individual.

Proven Effective

The approach works. Tested in a rigorous series of experiments, the approach is able to correctly identify true and false statements over 80% of the time. This result surpasses many previous benchmarks for human deception detection.

Fast and Easy to Use

The system is easy to use and requires very little training to understand the results. All that is required is a literal transcript of a conversation where issues of interest are discussed.
